Imagine you are holding a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in your hands for the first time, and it instantly feels slimmer than your regular high-end smartphone. And my heart skipped a beat when I realized that, damn this feels real, no weird sounds, no bulk – just a sleek device that feels super premium. But then, alarm bells: 4400 mAh battery? 25 W charging? For ₹1.75 lakh (~$1,899).
So, let’s find out whether the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is worth buying or not.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Specs: What’s New?

Design: Slim, Light, and Pocket-Friendly
If you’ve ever held a foldable phone before, you’d know how heavy it feels. But the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 genuinely surprised me. When closed, this phone feels almost as thin as the S24 Ultra, it’s just 8.9mm thin, and when unfolded, it becomes only 4.2mm thin. That’s crazy!

And it is also very light, just 215 grams. That means carrying it around will not feel much different from a normal flagship phone. The new hinge feels more solid, and yes, it folds flat, meaning there will be no visible gap in the middle.
They’ve used Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back and Gorilla Armor Ceramic 2 on the front, so yes, it is a very tough phone
One tiny complaint: It is a bit difficult to open this phone with one hand. Since its sides are flat and there is no place to pull and open it by hooking the nail. It is a small thing, but worth noting.
“One user said he couldn’t believe this is a foldable cuz it felt lighter than his old S22 Ultra.”
Display: Big, Brighter, Better
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has an absolutely massive 8 inch inner display and a much better 6.3 inch cover display. Both are bright now, which has a peak brightness of 2600 nits and that is even higher than many standard phones.
Typing on its cover screen is now much better. It is wide, so there will be no typos while replying to WhatsApp texts. Inside, the huge screen feels like a treat for watching Netflix, browsing on Chrome, or editing photos.
Bezels? Super thin.
Glass? Thinner but stronger.
Also, the under-display camera is gone. Samsung finally listened. Now there’s a proper punch-hole selfie camera inside too.
Battery Life & Charging
4400 mAh Battery
Yes, it’s the same as Fold 6. And yes, there have been a lot of complaints from users. One comment said: “Battery anxiety for life.” Even Tech YouTubers are pointing out ‘Still stuck at 25W in 2025? Like, Seriously? But Samsung claims 24 hrs of video playback. You might get 6.5 to 7 hrs of screen time in real life.
Charging Speeds
Still 25 W wired, 15 W wireless, and 7.5 W reverse. This may be okay for light users, but bro, when phones like Oppo are offering 100W charging, it feels like a dial-up in the era of 5G. Are you planning a Netflix binge? Keep your charger close.

Performance
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
The performance is incredibly powerful thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Everything is smooth, from multitasking to gaming. Samsung also claims full-day battery life, and early users are getting around 6.5 to 7 hours of screen-on time.
Real-life performance is solid, and One UI 8 is more optimized than before. Plus, you get 7 years of Android updates, so your investment of Rs 1.75 lakh is future-proof
Galaxy AI: Real, Useful, and Free
One of the biggest surprises? Galaxy AI features are free. No subscription required, and this isn’t just a marketing trick
You get features like:
- Live Translate
- Interpreter Mode
- Audio Erase (even for voice recordings!)
- Note Assist
There’s also deep Google Gemini integration. On a larger screen like this, the Galaxy AI makes more sense. Imagine using split screen with an AI assistant while you research, translate, or plan.
Camera: Flagship Stuff, Finally
Primary Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 borrowed the 200MP sensor from the S25 Ultra. This is a massive leap from the older 50MP sensor. Reviews (including ours!) noted improved clarity, night shots, and detail.
Supporting Lenses
- 12 MP ultrawide with autofocus, great for close-ups.
- 10 MP 3× telephoto, same as before, decent for portraits.
- 10 MP punch-hole selfie cam inside, 100° field of view.
- 10 MP cover cam for casual shots and video calls.

Video Features
With 4K 10-bit HDR support and Samsung’s new Pro Visual Engine, videos come out extremely detailed and vibrant, even in low light.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Colors & Storage Options
- Colors: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black (plus rare Mint online), stylish and premium.
- Storage + RAM: Starts at 12 GB/256 GB, up to 16 GB/1 TB.

Conclusion: Worth ₹1.75 Lakh?

If battery life and cost are your top priorities and you don’t want that massive screen, then the Fold 7 starts to lose its charm. Especially against flat flagships and Chinese foldables
